Princess Charlotte, the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, turns seven on Monday, and the couple celebrated early on Sunday evening by releasing new photos of the young royal.
The Duchess of Norfolk took the three photos this weekend in Norfolk, and one of them shows the Princess cuddling the family’s pet dog, a cocker spaniel named Orla, who hasn’t been seen before.
Charlotte is surrounded by wildflowers in all of the photos, wearing a pretty blue jumper over a white blouse and her long hair flowing past her shoulders.
Fans of the royal family will no doubt be overjoyed to see the photos, just as they were when Kate shared a sweet photo of her daughter last summer. Kate shared three photos she took in Norfolk during a family outing to the Big Butterfly Count on Instagram.
Charlotte looked adorable holding a butterfly in her hand while wearing a blue T-shirt with frill sleeves and pink patterned shorts in one of the photos.
“We wanted to share these beautiful Peacock and Red Admiral butterflies as part of the Big #ButterflyCount initiative taking place across the UK,” the Duchess captioned the photos.
“@savebutterflies is encouraging us all to count these amazing creatures because they are not only beautiful to look at but also extremely important.” Butterflies play an important role in the ecosystem as pollinators and food chain members. @savebutterflies, let’s hope you can beat last year’s total.”
Charlotte has had a busy few weeks, attending both Prince Philip’s thanksgiving service and her family’s traditional Easter service with her parents and older brother, Prince George, at the start of April.
In a less formal setting, Charlotte, George, and Kate were spotted out for ice cream after school last month on a warm spring day.
The young royals’ school days may soon look different, as they will not only be joined by their younger brother Prince Louis, four, but they will also reportedly attend a different school because Prince William and Kate are rumored to be considering relocating to the Home Counties.
