Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s secret visit to the Queen revealed

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle paid a private visit to the Queen at Windsor Castle, where they also met with Prince Charles, Harry’s father.

The news was confirmed by the Duke and Duchess’ press office, with a spokesperson revealing that the visit took place as the couple traveled to the Hague, Netherlands, for the Invictus Games. It was the couple’s first joint visit to the UK since they stepped down as working royals in 2020. Harry had returned to the United Kingdom for his grandfather’s funeral and the unveiling of a statue honoring his late mother, Princess Diana.

The visit was made in private

The couple was spotted at the traditional Maundy Thursday service, where the Prince of Wales took her place.

Harry has wanted to visit his homeland with his wife and two children, Archie and Lilibet, but his legal representative has stated that he and his family are “unable to return” because it is too dangerous.

Despite offering to pay for it himself, the Duke is bringing a claim against the Home Office after being told he would no longer be given the same level of personal protective security when visiting from the United States.

He was unable to attend his grandfather Prince Philip’s thanksgiving service in March due to a lack of security.

Their visit coincides with the Queen’s cancellation of her annual appearance at Windsor’s Easter Sunday church service.

Other members of the royal family are expected to attend the service, but this will not be confirmed until the day of the event.
