Princess Diana’s biographer claims that Prince Harry ‘can’t stand’ the Duchess of Cornwall and that he may deepen his rift with the royal family by ‘going after’ her and Prince Charles in his upcoming memoirs.
Tina Brown, 68, said the Duke of Sussex, 37, has never made peace with Prince Charles and Camilla’s relationship, and does not want Camilla to become Queen, in an interview with the Telegraph Magazine ahead of the release of her new book, The Palace Papers.
She continued, Prince Charles’ estranged son, who lives in California with his wife Meghan Markle, 40, and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, is expected to express his dissatisfaction in his memoirs, which are due out later this year.
‘William was disgusted about Meghan’s attack on Kate because she can’t respond back,’ Brown, who wrote the Diana Chronicles in 2006, said. But that’ll be nothing compared to how enraged he’ll be when this book is published.
‘Because Harry isn’t going after the Queen, she’s off limits.’ And he’s not likely to go after Kate, whom he adores. He will, however, go after Charles and Camilla, as well as possibly William.
‘And that’s so unhelpful to them all right now; for William, it’s the biggest cloud in their relationship right now.’
Brown, who covered the royal family for years as editor-in-chief of Tatler and editor of Vanity Fair, said Harry never warmed up to Camilla.
The author quotes an unnamed courtier as saying that when Harry was eventually persuaded to be in the same room with Camilla, he would remain silent and shoot her angry looks.
Prince William has grown to accept his father’s relationship with Camilla, she said, but the Duke of Sussex is’very angry’ that the Duchess of Cornwall will become Queen Consort when Prince Charles ascends to the throne.
The Duke of Cambridge is reportedly furious about his brother’s repeated attacks on the Royal Family. William and Harry’s relationship first became strained in the months leading up to Megxit and has slowly deteriorated in the months since.
He was especially enraged by the way his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, had been singled out.
Since Harry and Meghan stepped down from royal duties, they have only been photographed together twice: at the funeral of their grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, in April last year, and at the unveiling of a statue in honor of their mother, Princess Diana, last summer.
Tina told the Daily Telegraph that the feud with Harry was bad for the royal family because Harry, along with Kate, is the only person who can keep Prince William grounded and prevent him from becoming pompous.
‘One of his close friends told me that while everyone talks about how much Harry needed William, which he did, William also needed Harry because all those friends you think are so real, they still know you’re going to be king,’ she said.
‘William’s wife and brother will be the only ones who will tell him the truth.’
‘And Harry could tease and bring his brother back to earth.’ I’m told William was reliant on it.
‘William was on the verge of becoming pompous, and Harry wouldn’t let that happen.’
It comes after Prince Harry’s biographer claimed that in his memoir, Prince Harry only wants to speak positively about the Queen.
Harry’really wants to celebrate her life and his relationship with her in that book,’ according to Finding Freedom author Omid Scobie.
On the Royally Obsessed podcast, Omid stated that the book will honor Her Majesty’s life and reign.
‘Harry is going out of his way to make sure there isn’t anything in there [the book] that could be construed as being critical of the Queen or her reign in any way,’ he said.
‘In that book, he really wants to honor her life and his relationship with her.’
‘I think this is more about his story, as much as the press wants it to be a burn book and an attack on the institution.’
‘Of course, his story is much bigger than the few years he spent as Duke of Sussex.
‘I believe that people expecting a warts-and-all moment will be disappointed. ‘However, it will still be fascinating.’

Harry’s decision to work secretly with Pulitzer Prize-winning ghostwriter JR Moehringer on what his publishers described as “the definitive account of the experiences, adventures, losses, and life lessons that have helped shape him” has alarmed the Royal Family.
