Prince Charles is a devoted grandfather in addition to being the heir apparent to the British throne, patron or president of over 420 charities, and a husband and father. Prince William, his eldest son, has previously described him as “brilliant” in his familial role, and it’s clear that Charles takes his job seriously.

With the birth of Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s daughter, the future king became a grandfather for the fifth time in June 2021.

“The development of technology like electric vehicles, or green hydrogen for that matter for heavy transport, is vital for maintaining the health of our world for future generations, something I am only too aware of today, having recently become a grandfather for the fifth time,” Charles said during a visit to the Mini Factory in Cowley a few days later.

“Such happy news truly reminds one of the importance of continued innovation in this area – especially around sustainable battery technology – in light of the legacy we bequeath to our grandchildren,” he added.

In April 2020, the royal shared a lovely photo to commemorate the special day of his second youngest grandson, Prince Louis.

The black-and-white photograph, which was posted to the official Clarence House Instagram page, showed Charles smiling as he hugged Louis, who had his arms tightly around his grandfather’s neck.

“A very Happy Birthday to Prince Louis, who turns two today,” the image’s caption reads. The young Prince of Wales is embraced by his grandfather, The Prince of Wales.”

On Christmas Day 2019, this sweet moment between Charles, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Princess Charlotte was captured.

After the young royals made their public debut on the walk to church, the Prince appeared to be checking on a nervous George and Charlotte.

On the balcony of Buckingham Palace, Charles beams at Prince Louis as he waves to his grandfather. When the youngest Cambridge child made his debut at Trooping the Colour in 2019, he delighted the crowds by waving excitedly at the Royal Air Force fly-past.

In May 2019, a week after Archie’s birth, Prince Charles paid him a visit to see how his son Prince Harry and his daughter-in-law Meghan were adjusting to their new roles as parents. The meeting took place at Frogmore Cottage, the Sussexes’ Windsor home, which is part of the private Home Park.

“It’s a different part of your life,” the future King has previously said of being a grandfather. The best thing you can do is encourage them. Show them something that will pique their interest. That was done by my grandmother, and she was wonderful.” “It’s critical to establish a bond with them when they’re young,” he added.

Charles as a grandfather has been revealed by the Duchess of Cornwall, and he sounds fantastic! “He’ll get down on his knees and crawl around with them for hours, making funny noises and laughing,” Camilla said in a BBC documentary titled Prince, Son, and Heir: Charles at 70.

Fans were treated to a rare glimpse of home life in the same documentary. Charles had a special moment with his newest grandchild, Louis, who was carried by his mother Kate.

Charles is a “brilliant” grandfather, according to William, who wishes he could spend more time with his grandchildren. “It’s something I’m working more heavily on, to put it that way,” William said when asked if Charles has time to be a grandfather. I believe he has time for it, but I would prefer that he spend more time with the kids.

“I believe he’s… Now that he’s 70 years old, it’s a good time to consolidate a little because, like most families, you’re concerned about having them around and ensuring their health. And, while he’s the fittest man I know, I want him to stay that way until he’s 95. So, having more time with him at home and being able to play with the grandchildren would be wonderful. Because he’s brilliant when he’s there. However, we require his presence as much as possible.”

Do you recall what happened that day? Prince William and Kate received family visitors, including Prince Charles and Camilla, shortly after the birth of their first child, Prince George. The future King told the press that they wouldn’t have to wait long because William and Kate would be on the Lindo Wing steps soon.

Between them, Charles and Camilla have nine grandchildren and step-grandchildren. The Duchess has five grandchildren: Lola and Freddie Parker Bowles (children of Tom Parker Bowles) and Eliza Lopes (twins Gus and Louis Lopes), in addition to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, and Archie (children of Laura Lopes).

Camilla continued, “My grandchildren adore him, absolutely adore him.” “He reads Harry Potter and can do all the different voices, which I think kids appreciate.”

Charles even planted an arboretum for his first grandchild, Prince George, at his Scottish estate, Birkhall. In the BBC documentary Prince, Son, and Heir: Charles at 70, Charles said, “It was planted around the same time as Prince George, my grandson was born.” “It’s George’s wood,” says the narrator. It’ll be incredible for him as they get older and he gets older.”
