Prince William and Kate usually spend the day with their three young children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, in private, though they have previously shared photos of their celebrations on social media.

They’ll most likely acknowledge the day on Twitter and Instagram, wishing their followers a happy Mother’s Day, as they usually do.

They will, however, be celebrating privately at Kensington Palace at home. Following their Caribbean tour, the couple will return to London on Sunday morning, just in time to celebrate Mother’s Day with their children.

With the help of Prince William and their nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, George, eight, Charlotte, six, and Louis, three, will almost certainly have something special planned for Kate.

Last year, the couple shared a photo of the kids hand-decorating a Victoria Sponge cake for the Duchess with buttercream icing, sprinkles, and colorful pipe cleaners shaped into hearts.

On this day, William and Kate made sure that their children remembered their late paternal grandmother, Princess Diana. The kids wrote sweet letters to their Granny Diana and drew pictures for her, with George’s note reading: “Greetings, Granny Diana Happy Mother’s Day, everyone! I adore you and always think of you, George xxx, sending you lots of love.”

A beautiful picture of a sunset, trees, and flying birds had also been drawn by the young future King.

Charlotte wrote the second letter, which included a love heart drawing and animal stickers and read: “I’m thinking of you on Mother’s Day, Granny Diana, and I adore you. Papa is longing for you. Lots of love, Charlotte xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx” The third letter was accompanied by an adorable love heart drawing from Louis, as well as his name.
