The big change to Prince William and Catherine’s royal tour unveiled

Matt Porteous, a royal photographer and videographer, has joined Prince William and Catherine’s royal tour retinue as a surprise newcomer.

The royal pair has been updating royal watchers on their travels on their official social media accounts while on a week-long royal tour of the Caribbean, which began in Belize and ended in the Bahamas.

Matt, who has previously shot official photos for the royal family, has brilliantly captured some of the posts uploaded. This is the first time the royal couple has brought along their own photographer, who they are paying for themselves, to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Prince William and Kate stunned fans earlier this week when they shared a candid video – taken by Matt – of them swimming underwater in Belize while exploring the stunning reef at South Water Caye.

Matt appears to be an excellent pick, given the award-winning photographer specializes in underwater photography, having grown up on the Jersey shore in the Channel Islands. He is a sports, travel, and wedding photographer who has won accolades in the United Kingdom.

Several of his photographs were taken from the water and perfectly capture the crashing waves of the sea, demonstrating Matt’s ability.

He told Ocean Culture Life, “I’ve always had a curiosity with our planet beneath the crashing waves.” “It represents the world we live in today to me, the serenity after every storm.” The contrast between beauty, clarity, and chaos. Reefs that have survived and many that have vanished, fish numbers in oceans are decreasing, while others thrive.”

Matt has photographed several significant family occasions for the Cambridges over the years, including Prince George’s 3rd birthday photos, Prince Louis’ christening, and various family portraits to commemorate other anniversaries such as Mother’s Day.

“People ask me that all the time, they are a really beautiful family, very compassionate and very attentive,” Matt said in an interview with HELLO! in 2020 about what the Duchess is like in real life and how it feels to photograph her and her family.

“When I’m on those shoots, I can feel the pressure.” The first time, without a doubt; the second time, though, there is less pressure. Every work, however, comes with some level of stress.”
