A spokesperson for Prince Harry has confirmed that the 37-year-old will not return to the UK to attend the Duke of Edinburgh’s memorial service on March 29.
The decision follows the father-of-claim two’s that he “does not feel safe” in the UK during a preliminary hearing against the Home Office over his police protection.
According to the spokesperson, Harry plans to pay a visit to his grandmother, the Queen, soon.
After being told he would no longer be given the “same degree” of personal protective security when visiting from the US, the Duke of Sussex applied for a judicial review of a Home Office decision not to allow him to personally pay for police protection for himself and his family while in the UK.
He wanted to bring his children, Archie, two, and Lilibet, eight months old, to visit from the United States, but a legal representative for the Duke previously stated that he and his family are “unable to return to his home” because it is too dangerous.
“It goes without saying that he does want to come back to see family and friends and to continue to support the charities that are so close to his heart,” the Duke’s legal representative, QC Shaheed Fatima, said at the time.
Following their resignation as senior working royals in early 2020, Harry and Meghan lost their taxpayer-funded police protection.

In July 2021, he returned from California for the unveiling of the Diana, Princess of Wales memorial statue and met seriously ill children and young people at a WellChild garden party and afternoon tea in Kew Gardens, west London, the day before.
The Duke’s car was reportedly pursued by photographers as he drove away.
A legal representative for Harry previously stated that the Duke prefers to fund the security on his own rather than relying on taxpayers. The Home Office’s lawyer, Robert Palmer QC, told the court that Harry’s offer of private funding was “irrelevant.”
“Personal protective security by the police is not available on a privately financed basis,” he wrote in written submissions, “and Ravec [Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures] does not make decisions on the provision of such security on the basis of any financial contribution that could be sought or obtained to pay for it.”
This situation leaves me a bit perplexed. Maybe I’m wrong but I’d think that he’d be safer in England than he is here in the US. As long as he remains safe, that’s all that matters. I’m sure that it must upset him that he won’t be able to attend his grandfather’s Memorial service, though.
As far as he and Meghan having a third baby…will that child be biologically Meghan’s or will will he or she be a full sibling to Lilibet AKA Sophia? I may be a psychic but I haven’t figured out who I’m going to end up with. If Harry and I end up together, I may be in the final years of my reproductive life but aside from having hypertension, I’m healthy as a thoroughbred. Therefore, I want to carry my child. I want to experience that bond and have him or her grow inside of me. It’s not that I don’t love Sophia or my other 5 children…because I do, but a lot of bonding goes on during pregnancy that I’ve already been robbed of with all six of my children who are already here. So, yes….I want to have experience that bond that comes with actually nurturing and growing my baby inside of me.
I’m in love with one man, Dave, and in very, very strong like with Harry that could easily grow to love, if nurtured like my relationship with Dave was. This is a mess. I don’t know what everyone though would happen.
What???
