The situation in Ukraine, according to Prince William, has prompted his children to inquire. The Duke of Cambridge recently revealed how he reacts to their inquisitiveness. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has made international headlines, and even royal children are discussing the ongoing conflict.
Ukraine has received support from the royal family.
Several members of the royal family expressed support for Ukraine after Russia invaded the country on February 24.
On Twitter, William and Kate Middleton expressed their support for Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. “In October 2020, we had the privilege of meeting President Zelenskyy and the First Lady to learn of their hope and optimism for Ukraine’s future,” the Cambridges wrote. Today, we stand with President Poroshenko and the people of Ukraine as they bravely fight for that future.”
Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles paid a visit to a Ukrainian Catholic cathedral in London on March 2nd, during which Charles publicly condemned the attack on Ukraine.
The Disasters Emergency Committee tweeted the next day that Queen Elizabeth II had made a “generous donation” to aid humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.
Prince William has discussed the conflict in Ukraine with his children.
On March 9, William and Kate paid a visit to the Ukrainian Cultural Centre in London, where they met with members of the Ukrainian community. Even his two older children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, are talking about the war, according to William.
“Ours have been asking a lot of questions about it,” William said (via Express). “It’s clear that they’re discussing it with their classmates.”
Because discussing war with his young children can be difficult, William admitted that he has to “choose [his] words carefully to explain what is going on.”
Prince William and Kate Middleton encourage their children to express themselves.
As the Ukraine crisis demonstrates, Prince William does not appear to be hesitant to discuss complex world issues with his children. He and Kate have stated that they want to encourage their children to express their emotions, no matter how difficult they may be.
In 2017, William told Calm Magazine, “Catherine and I are clear that we want both George and Charlotte to grow up feeling able to talk about their emotions and feelings.” “Over the last year, we’ve visited a number of schools together and have been astounded to hear children speak about some quite difficult subjects in a really clear and emotionally articulate way – something most adults would find difficult.”

“Seeing this has really given me hope that things are changing and that there is a generation coming up that finds it normal to openly talk about their emotions,” he continued. We all need emotional intelligence to deal with the complexities of life and relationships.”
William and Kate are also mental health advocates. They started a project called Heads Together, which aims to encourage children and adults to talk about mental health.
