Meghan Markle went undercover for a night out in Toronto, Canada, with Harry, Princess Eugenie, and her husband Jack Brooksbank, before a phone call changed their lives forever.
Before their relationship was made public, Meghan Markle revealed she went on a secret night out with Princess Eugenie, Jack Brooksbank, and Prince Harry.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had been dating for four months at the time and were head over heels in love.
Because their relationship was still a secret, they spent most of their early dates in private restaurants or at each other’s homes, where they knew they wouldn’t be seen.
However, as they grew stronger, they began to venture out into the world.
Meghan and Harry wanted to celebrate Halloween while in Meghan’s Canadian hometown of Toronto, so they devised a plan.
Meghan revealed that she and Harry, as well as Princess Eugenie and her now-husband Jack Brooksbank, went out to Soho House in Toronto, but that they disguised themselves so that no one would recognize them.
Meghan reflected on a conversation she had with Ellen DeGeneres in a talk show interview the night before.
“He came to see me in Toronto, and our friends, including his cousin Eugenie and now her husband Jack, came with him,” she said.
And the four of us snuck out in Halloween costumes for one last night on the town before announcing our relationship to the world.
“So you went to a Halloween party with Harry and they had no idea it was the two of you?” Ellen asked.
“It was a post-apocalypse theme, so we had all this very bizarre costuming on, and we were able to just have one fun final night out,” Meghan confirmed.
However, it was on this night that Prince Harry received a phone call that would forever alter their relationship.
The pair were having the “perfect night out” – “until they received a call from one of Harry’s aides at Kensington Palace. It wasn’t good news,” according to authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand in their unauthorized biography, Finding Freedom.
The couple was informed that their relationship had been discovered by the press. Their relationship would be publicized the next day all over the world.
As a result, the Halloween party was Meghan and Harry’s last chance to celebrate their relationship in private.
Eugenie was seen with Harry at the Super Bowl in the United States last week, indicating that they have remained close since Harry and Meghan’s decision to leave the royal family.
The royal couple were photographed in the stands together, though Meghan and Eugenie’s husband Jack were not present.

So, let’s just be honest for once – we all have just one life to live. Who among us would volunteer to live unhappy your whole life? Second, Harry came from a broken home. Ask anyone you know whose parents divorced with all that Charles and Diana were doing to each other, and they will tell you there is some damage there – children take sides. Third, we have NO business inserting ourselves in Harry and Meghan’s marriage. We tried that before with Harry’s parents and that did not turn out very well. Although UK folk pay some of their taxes to the monarchy, no one has a right to tell someone who they can and can not love and marry. I would bet money that these two NEVER divorce. They both know what that is like and they would not want that for their children. So, we need to get over this.
