At Windsor Castle, a new photograph of the Queen with her great-grandchildren has been discovered.
After celebrating her Platinum Jubilee on February 6, the monarch, 95, held her first in-person engagement at her Berkshire home on Wednesday.
Her Majesty appears to be holding Mike and Zara Tindall’s baby son, Lucas, who was born in March 2021, in a sweet new portrait of the royals on a console table behind the Queen.
Mia, now eight, and Lena, three, appear to be sitting on either side of their great-grandmother, with their cousin, Prince Louis, also three, on the end of the sofa next to Mia.
Lady Louise Windsor, the Queen’s youngest granddaughter, appears to be standing behind them, along with four more of her great-grandchildren: Prince George, eight, Isla Phillips, nine, Princess Charlotte, six, and Savannah Phillips, 11 years old.
The portrait appears to have been taken during the Queen’s summer vacation in Scotland, at Balmoral.
The monarch and her late husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, were photographed in 2018 with seven of their great-grandchildren on the same blue sofa.
Mike revealed on his podcast The Good, The Bad, and Rugby in October that he and Zara had taken their kids to see the Queen at her Balmoral estate.
“We went up to Scotland,” he explained, “so we had a good family vacation through August, which was quite nice with the kids.”
Last summer, the Cambridges and the Wessexes were among the royal family members who visited Scotland, and the Queen is said to have enjoyed a picnic at Glen Muick with some of her great-grandchildren.
Her Majesty has welcomed two more great-grandchildren since Prince Philip’s death in April 2021: the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s second child, Lilibet, who arrived last June, and Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s daughter, Sienna, who arrived last September.
