Prince William and Kate Middleton have spoken out over the Queen’s formal Jubilee speech, in which she expresses her desire for the Duchess of Cornwall to become Queen Consort when Prince Charles becomes King.
A portion of Her Majesty’s letter, which expresses her public approval of Duchess Camilla’s succession, was ‘liked’ by Prince William and Kate via their personal Instagram account, @dukeanduchessofcambridge, in a post to Her Majesty’s official Instagram account, @theroyalfamily.
“On the eve of the 70th anniversary of her accession to the throne, The Queen has penned a statement thanking the public and her family for their support, and looking forward to Platinum Jubilee celebrations throughout the following year,” the caption read on Instagram.
“In her address, she mentions a broadcast she gave on her 21st birthday, in which she promised her life’s work to the Commonwealth’s people, saying, ‘I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service.'”
The letter, which was posted in its entirety on the Royal Family’s official Twitter account, expressed the monarch’s hopes for support when her son is crowned King and his wife is crowned Queen Consort.
“And when, in due course, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will offer him and his wife Camilla the same support you have given me, and it is my honest intention that Camilla will be acknowledged as Queen Consort as she continues her own devoted duty,” the letter continued.
Royal enthusiasts, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, reacted quickly to the Queen’s message.
One fan said in the comments section of the official Instagram post: “On this historic occasion, I wish you all the best. “We are a blessed nation of people to have had you as our Monarch all these years, you mean so much to us, thank you,” one person said, while another said, “We are a lucky nation of people to have enjoyed you as our Monarch all these years, you mean so much to us, thank you.””

I was a fun of The Royals up to this point. When I heard Camila will be Queen I lost all respect for this family. How an adulterous man and woman who both cheated on their spouses can become King and Queen when both of them showed such low character for many years? Aren’t they suppose to be an example and have an unquestionable life? I will never understand nor accept. I’m done with them. It’s not only that I think they don’t deserve to be crowned but the House of Windsor needs to be abolished, it’s about time.
