Meghan Markle penned a heartfelt farewell letter to her blog’s subscribers before shutting it down in April 2017.
The touching statement was written by the former actress months before she and Prince Harry announced their engagement, and it can still be found on The Tig’s landing page.
“To all of my Tig pals. It’s time to say goodbye to The Tig, who has spent nearly three years on this journey with you “Meghan penned an essay.
“What started out as a personal project (my little engine that could), has grown into an incredible community of inspiration, support, fun, and frivolity. You’ve brightened my days and made this experience so enjoyable.
“Continue to seek for those Tig moments of discovery, to laugh and take chances, and to be “the change you wish to see in the world.”
“Above all, remember your worth – as I’ve told you many times before: you, my beautiful friend, are enough. Thank you once again for everything.”
With two kisses and her maiden name, the future Duchess ended her goodbye message.
Meghan started her lifestyle blog in 2014, sharing fashion, travel, and beauty ideas, as well as recipes and interviews with inspiring women.
After tasting a wine called Tignanello – nicknamed “Tig” – which she said helped her comprehend what wine professionals meant when they talked about the “body, legs, and structure of wine,” she came up with the name for the website.
“It was the epitome of an ah-ha moment,” Meghan added. “It became a ‘Tig’ moment for me – a moment of realization. Any new knowledge, revelation, or ‘ohhhhh, I got it!’ moment after that became a ‘Tig’ moment.”
