The QUEEN : The Duke of Sussex has expressed an interest in bringing his children to the United Kingdom.
The Duke of Sussex has filed a judicial review against the Home Office’s decision not to allow him to pay for his and his family’s police protection while in the UK, it was revealed over the weekend.
Because security is an issue for the Metropolitan Police and the Home Office, Buckingham Palace is not commenting on Prince Harry’s legal action.
Harry wants to bring his son Archie and baby daughter Lilibet to visit from the United States, but a legal representative stated he and his family are “unable to return to his home” because it is too hazardous.
He and his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, fund a private protection force for their family in the United States.
However, after stepping down as senior royals in March 2020, he and Meghan lost their taxpayer-funded police protection in the UK.
“Prince Harry inherited a security risk at birth, for the rest of his life,” the legal representative said. He is the sixth in line to the throne, has served two tours of battle in Afghanistan, and his family has faced well-documented neo-Nazi and extremist threats in recent years.
“While his position inside the institution has altered, his status as a member of the royal family has remained same. The threat to him and his family hasn’t gone away either.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex fund a private security team for their family, but that security is insufficient to replace the necessary police protection while in the UK. Prince Harry and his family are unable to return to their residence in the absence of such security.
“In January 2020, at Sandringham, the Duke volunteered to pay for personal UK police protection for himself and his family. That offer was turned down. He is still willing to fund the cost of security so that the British public is not burdened.
“As is well known, others who have left public service and are considered a menace to the public receive free police protection. Prince Harry’s goal has been simple: to protect the safety of himself and his family while in the United Kingdom so that his children can learn about his homeland.
“During his last visit to the UK in July 2021 – to install a statue in honor of his late mother – his security was jeopardized when he left a charity event without police protection.”
“He filed a court review in September 2021 after another attempt at discussions was refused, in the hopes of having the security processes re-evaluated for the evident and necessary protection required.

“The United Kingdom will always remain Prince Harry’s home and a safe haven for his wife and children. There is an excessive personal risk associated with the lack of police protection.
“After over two years of pleadings for security in the UK, Prince Harry hopes that his petition will bring the situation to a stop. We believe it is appropriate to issue a statement clarifying the facts following a leak in a UK tabloid with shady timing.”
