Kate Middleton’s sweet comment about the royals during outing with the Queen

During their first joint outing, Kate Middleton made a kind remark about the royals. Catherine joined the monarch and Prince Philip in Leicester.

The Duchess of Cambridge has a close relationship with the royal family, and in 2012 she was given the honor of accompanying the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh on the Diamond Jubilee tour.

While Kate said she missed her husband Prince William “terribly” while he was on RAF duty in the Falkland Islands, she made the kindest remark about her in-laws.

In March 2012, the Queen and Prince Philip took the Duchess under their wing for engagements in Leicester, marking Kate’s first outing with the monarch since marrying into the royal family the year before.

When one well-wisher asked the Duchess how her husband was, she said: “He’s fine – I’m missing him terribly.”

She sweetly added: “I’m being well looked after.”

In his duties as an RAF search and rescue pilot, the Duke of Cambridge was deployed to the Falkland Islands for six weeks in 2012.

Kate appeared at ease with the Queen as they watched a fashion display and toured Leicester Cathedral, wearing a teal dress and peplum-style jacket by LK Bennett.

A concert at Buckingham Palace, street celebrations for the Big Jubilee supper, and the Thames Pageant, which saw thousands line the streets to see the Queen and her family on the Royal Barge, were among the events marking the monarch’s 60th year on the throne.

The Cambridges went on their second official tour to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in September of that year, visiting Malaysia, Singapore, the Solomon Islands, and Tuvalu.

And now, in 2022, the monarch, who is 95 years old, will celebrate her Platinum Jubilee – the 70th year of her reign – with Buckingham Palace announcing plans on Monday for a year of festivities, including an extra Bank Holiday.
