Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are returning to school, but without a photo op with the press.
Despite the fact that Prince William and Kate Middleton have previously shared photos of their three children starting school, royal fans are unlikely to see the adorable photos of George, 8, Charlotte, 6, and Louis, 3, every year. The couple has always treated school as a private space, allowing their children to grow up in as stress-free an environment as possible.
Kate and Prince William, both 39, have previously shared photos of significant school milestones such as their children’s first days at new schools. This year, Prince George and Princess Charlotte will continue their education at Thomas’s Battersea, a private school in London not far from the royal family’s Kensington Palace residence. Louis will resume his preschool classes at Willcocks Nursery School, where he began in the spring.
In April, Kate and Prince William shared a new portrait of Prince Louis smiling on his red walker bike as he heads to his first day of preschool, in honour of his third birthday.
Princess Charlotte had a big day in September 2019: her first day at Thomas’s Battersea! As she began her new school, the princess adorably wore her school uniform and excitedly fussed with her hair. (Fortunately, Prince George was present to show his younger sister the ropes!)
Before returning to school, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis had a lot of fun over the summer. According to Vanity Fair, Kate and Prince William took their children sailing off the coast of Norfolk last month. Their summer vacation also included a trip to Scotland, where they were rumoured to have paid a visit to Queen Elizabeth at her Balmoral estate.
The Scottish castle has been a private retreat for the British royals for over 150 years. The royals in the Highlands enjoy entertaining guests, holding dances, picnics, and shooting parties — all while battling the nibbling little flies that stalk the heather-covered mountain sides.
