Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are in the ‘Thrive Chapter’ of Their Lives, Royal Author Says

Meghan Markle , Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex are in a better place after all of the drama surrounding Megxit and their time as senior working royals. According to royal author Omid Scobie, the couple, who now live in California — specifically, the star-studded coastal enclave of Montecito — are in the “thrive chapter” of their lives.

In February 2021, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped down from their senior royal roles for good.

In February 2021, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry confirmed that they would not be returning to their royal roles. They announced their intention to step away from the royal spotlight more than a year ago, in January 2020. The details were worked out behind closed doors in the weeks that followed, dubbed the “Sandringham Summit” by some.

What was the outcome of those discussions? Meghan and Harry would have a one-year trial period with Queen Elizabeth II, which would end in March 2021, after which they would re-evaluate the situation. However, in February 2021, Buckingham Palace issued a statement stating that the couple informed the queen that they would not be returning to their roles as working royals.

According to Omid Scobie, author of “Finding Freedom,” Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are “existing in a different” and “much healthier” place.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have learned a lot since their retirement as senior royals. Omid Scobie, a royal reporter and co-author of Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, told People in August 2021 that the couple has learned to prioritise mental health and keep “some of the toxicity” at bay.
In a cover storey about the royal couple, Scobie said, “They seem to be existing in a different place, and that place is much healthier.” “Meghan famously said that simply surviving was not enough — we are now in the thrive chapter.”

Meghan and Harry have already had a busy year in 2021. When Lilibet “Lili” Mountbatten-Windsor was born in June, they became parents to two children. They sat down for a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in the months leading up to Lili’s birth, detailing the reasons for their royal exit.

Since then, Meghan has written a children’s book about Harry and their 2-year-old son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, and Harry’s long-awaited mental health docuseries with Oprah has premiered on AppleTV+.

Meghan and Harry are now in “the era of visibility,” according to Scobie. They’re “really excited” about their upcoming projects, which include working on important causes and expanding their in-person charity work through the Archewell Foundation.

“They’re a couple who excels at human interaction in those moments. Scobie stated, “They need to be on the ground.” “They say the proof is in the pudding, and that pudding is about to be seen.”

So keep your eyes peeled for more from Meghan and Harry.
