Royal wedding like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have plenty of official wedding photos to remember their nuptials, thanks to hundreds of cameras snapping their every move on their big day.
However, there are a few behind-the-scenes photos of their wedding rehearsals, pre-ceremony nerves, and the big wedding dress reveal that capture their private moments. Take a look back at the breathtaking images…
1. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry
On May 19, 2019, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrated their first wedding anniversary, and Sussex Royal shared a video with a collection of photos. Meghan shares an intimate moment with her mother Doria Ragland after signing their marriage licence. Harry heads down the stairs once he is ready to head off to the venue.
2. Diana, Princess of Wales, and Prince Charles
Princess Diana married Prince Charles at St Paul’s Cathedral in 1981, followed by a reception at Buckingham Palace. With the Queen close by, Diana was photographed behind-the-scenes as she reassured her five-year-old bridesmaid Clementine Hambro not to be nervous.
3. Diana, Princess of Wales, and Prince Charles
On July 27, 1981, photos were taken at Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ wedding rehearsal. Princess Diana and Prince Charles are seen outside St Paul’s Cathedral, with Prince Andrew trailing behind them.
4. Prince William and Kate Middleton
On April 29, 2011, Kate Middleton and Prince William married at Westminster Abbey, and the couple had a private rehearsal the day before the wedding. When Kate was photographed outside with Prince Harry, she looked as beautiful as ever.
5. Jack Brooksbank and Princess Eugenie
Princess Eugenie honoured her father, Prince Andrew, on Father’s Day 2019 by sharing a behind-the-scenes photo from her wedding day. It shows Prince Andrew seeing Princess Eugenie in her wedding gown for the first time before walking her down the aisle to her now-husband Jack Brooksbank at St James’s Palace.
To commemorate their second wedding anniversary, the couple also shared a video montage of previously unseen wedding photos and holiday snaps.
6. Mike Tindall and Zara Phillips
On July 30, 2011, Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall married at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh. They, too, went to a rehearsal the day before the wedding and were photographed exiting the venue looking ecstatic.
7. Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel
On the tenth anniversary of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel’s wedding, the Swedish royal family released a series of wedding photos. One behind-the-scenes shot of the couple embracing behind the doors to their reception before entering and greeting guests was included in the collection.
8. Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip

To commemorate their fifth wedding anniversary on June 13, 2020, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden released ten behind-the-scenes photos from their wedding day at Stockholm’s Royal Chapel. Carl Philip getting ready was featured in the lovely series, as was Sofia taking a selfie with her father.
9. Thomas Kingston and Lady Gabriella Windsor
When Lady Gabriella Windsor married Thomas Kingston at St George’s Chapel on May 18, 2019, Gabriella’s cousin posted a collection of behind-the-scenes photos to social media. Gabriella cutting the cake was captured in one of the photos.
