Although George and Charlotte have been seen out and about more than their younger brother, a new photo of the eldest Cambridge children has left royal fans “gobsmacked.”

On June 21, Prince William ran a half marathon at Queen Elizabeth II’s Sandringham Estate with George and Charlotte by his side to help kick off the race. At the start of the race, the young prince and princess did the countdown with their father and cheered on all of the competitors.
While Prince Louis and Kate were not present, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s social media accounts shared a sweet Father’s Day post that featured a never-before-seen photo of William with all three of his children; however, it wasn’t that image that got people talking.
Why pictures from the event surprised royal fans
The fact that George and Charlotte had grown so tall in photos and videos from the event surprised royal watchers. Despite the fact that we’ve watched the Cambridge children grow up in front of our eyes over the years, many people were surprised to see their height in comparison to their father. A number of royal fans took to social media to comment on Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s rapid growth, according to the Express.
“Wow, Prince George and Princess Charlotte are growing so fast,” one user commented. They’re absolutely adorable.”
“Crikey, they’ve shot up,” said another.

In terms of height, George and Charlotte appear to be following in the footsteps of William and their paternal grandparents.
Prince Charles, their grandfather, is 5 feet 10 inches tall, the same height as Princess Diana. Kate is 5 feet, 8 inches tall without heels, but her husband is 6 feet, 3 inches tall, making him the family’s tallest member. That is, unless George one day surpasses him.
