PRINCE CHARLES is unlikely to deprive Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s children of their HRH titles, as this would jeopardize his plan to make Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, Queen Consort upon his accession to the throne.
Archie and Lilibet, Meghan and Harry’s two children, have neither royal titles and are not considered prince or princess due to their position in the line of succession. However, when Queen Elizabeth II dies and Charles becomes King, they will automatically inherit the titles as monarch’s grandchildren.
Charles, as King, could strip his grandchildren of their titles, but a royal expert believes this is unlikely, as the Prince of Wales is concerned about his popularity ratings.
According to royal author Robert Lacey, Charles will concentrate on well-wishers in order to make Camilla Queen Consort.
Mr Lacey told the Times: “It is clear to me that the Queen and her advisers have discussed this issue at the highest level, and that Archie and Lili’s future royal status is not compromised during her lifetime.”
“It is possible that Prince Charles will attempt to deprive the Sussex children of royal status when he ascends to the throne, but this does not appear likely.
“His priority then will be to gain popular support for upgrading the status of Camilla from princess consort to queen consort, and he is not likely to court unpopularity by removing HRH status from Archie and Lili.”
Camilla was not given the title of Princess following her marriage to Charles in 2005 out of respect for Princess Diana.
A statement released by Clarence House in 2020 said: “The intention is for the Duchess to be known as Princess Consort when the Prince accedes to the throne.
“This was announced at the time of the marriage and has not changed in the slightest.”
The Duchess of Sussex addressed Archie’s royal titles during Meghan and Harry’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in March.
She implied that her son was not made a prince as a result of a protocol change and suggested it was due to his mixed-race ancestry.
Meghan said: “If it meant he was going to be safe, then, of course.
“All the grandeur surrounding this stuff is an attachment that I don’t personally have, right? I’ve been a waitress, an actress, a princess, a duchess. I’ve always just still been Meghan, right?
That will never happen. Charlie is set to be the most despised King and the people of Britain will never allow that woman to be Queen. It would be not allowed any as she is not of royal blood, so it would never happen, thank god.
If that woman becomes queen I will give up being British princess Diana should and would have become our queen if Camilla had kept her nasty hands of a married man and as for Charles I don’t think he’s earned the right to be king I feel William and his beautiful wife should be our king and queen hope I live to see that happen I feel he is a good man and Dianna would be so proud of her sons choice of wives
The Queen promised the British people that if Charles married Camilla she would never be Queen.
It would be an insult to us all if she was. She does not deserve it!!
