The Duke of Cambridge turned 39 on Monday, and Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall sent him birthday greetings. To commemorate the occasion, Clarence House posted two adorable vintage pictures.
The first photograph depicted Charles and Prince William as babies, while the second depicted the couple with Camilla during Prince Harry’s first-ever Invictus Games in 2014.
In a touching black and white photograph taken at Kensington Palace in December 1982, Charles gazed down at his then six-month-old baby as he cradled him on his lap. William was given “a very Happy Birthday” on Charles and Camilla’s official social media pages.
In the meanwhile, the Queen offered her best wishes. The official Twitter account of the royal family posted photos of the Duke of Cambridge with the Duchess of Cambridge and their children on the Buckingham Palace balcony, as well as William in military dress.
The monarch’s official Twitter account sent the following message: “Today is The Duke of Cambridge’s birthday, and we’d like to wish him a very happy birthday! #HappyBirthdayHRH.”
The Duke typically keeps his birthday secret since he and Kate are presently living at Kensington Palace during the school year for their children.
The party comes after the pair celebrated Father’s Day by sharing more touching photos. To commemorate the occasion, Kensington Palace released a never-before-seen picture as part of a film.
On the steps of their house, Kensington Palace, Prince William and his children were photographed, with the future King looking dapper in his military outfit. Meanwhile, George, Charlotte, and Louis were all dressed in blue. “Wishing dads worldwide a wonderful Father’s Day,” the caption said.
William was born in St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, at 9.03pm on June 21, 1982, and is the second in line to the throne after his father Prince Charles. He was the eldest son of Charles and the late Princess Diana, weighing 7lb 1 1/2oz.
